Vatican Spiral Staircase

Part of the Vatican museum. Designed by Giuseppe Momo in 1932. The stair case is a double helix. I had not knowingly seen this place in photographs before. My interpretation of this scene is quite different to the obvious – Fresh eyes 🙂 Try a google search on ‘Vatican Spiral Staircase’. Ninety percent of the images are taken from the one obvious angle. I loved this place. There is nothing quite like it in Australia. Fabulous architecture, ornate, solid, craftsmanship, are a few words that spring to mind. Some think that this shot is erie. I really like the balance and juxtaposition of the human elements.
